Mystery Date to Pageant Of The Masters

I surprised Timothy with tickets to Laguna Beach's Pageant of the Masters.  It is an annual festival held by the Festival of Arts.  The event is known for it's tableaux vivant ~ living pictures ~ where classical and contemporary pieces of art are recreated by real people.  They are made to look nearly identical to the original.  This is done through clever costumes, makeup, headdresses, lighting, props and backdrops.  It is awesome and we enjoyed a wonderful evening together.

We parked in the gravel lot and took the shuttle to The Festival of Arts.

I love my baby!

We walked around the Sawdust Festival in search for two pieces of art for our parents.  We thought they would makes nice thank you gifts for our wedding.  BUT everything was just a smidge out of our budget.  Back to the old drawing board to find something unique that expresses our gratitude for their support.

I liked this tile.  Especially since the tiles look a lot like Scrabble (and Timothy and I LOOOOVE Scrabble) and because everyone knows I AM the queen.  (LOL)

We looked at the beautiful homes in the hills with views of the ocean.  Sigh.

We both got a little giddy when we saw a wedding reception being set up.  In less than 2 months that will be us!  YAY!

Even the parking meters are fancy shmancy.

LOVE this big planter of succulents.  Beautiful.

We had a lovely picnic courtesy of Whole Foods while we listened to a great band and did some people watching.  It's great that Timothy and I can sit in silence for long periods of time and just people watch and take in our surroundings.  Love it!

The show was great tonight.  I hope that we get the chance to see the show again.  But, next year we will remember our binoculars.  That way we can actually see the details and play a few rounds of Where's Waldo. :)
