Yay for Sweet T.!

I'm so proud of my Sweet T.!  He started his first day at his new job.  Naturally, he loved it.  Disney is blessed to have you!!!  Let your light shine.  I KNOW that you will use your gifts to help others.

And this is cause for a sour apple celebration (Sweet T.'s favoritest candy ever).

The Birthday Girl's Cake

I asked Sweet T. if I could make my own birthday cake.  We've tried a few Gluten Free cakes but they've left a lot to be desired.  Mainly because they are GF and Dairy Free and it just doesn't work for us.

I broke out the awesome Kitchen Aid mixer, one of the generous wedding gifts from Mrs. B., and went to town on my first GF cake.

I made the recipe from scratch thanks to a friend who is also GF.  I was shooting for a Tiffany Box Blue but I don't quite have the whole color matching frosting thing down yet.  I'm learnng a little dab will do ya.  I screwed up the color so I made it a funky shade of purple.  (See below!)

I wimped out on making the cake from scratch and opted for this (ridiculously expensive) mix.

And voila  here's a day after pic after we tried out the cake.  It was pretty tasty!  The plate is another amazing wedding present.  A cake plate from Tiffany & Co.  Do my friends know me or what?

33 candles on my birthday cake and I've never been happier.  Married to my very best friend, still high from our dream come true wedding, and trusting that this year will be full of suprises and blessings.  So very blessed.

MHB Turns The Big 3-3

An awesome birthday today.  A new haircut (8 inches, be gone!) a gourmet dinner at In-N-Out Burger (protein style double double AND a neapolitan milkshake for a bday treat) AND a date night to watch The San Francisco Ballet.

We were running late from my hair appt. to dinner to the Theatre so all I have are a few pics snapped on Timothy's BlackBerrry.  My hubby looked so handsome in his suit.  And I love how he sat through a 2 1/2 hour ballet because he knew that it is something that I would enjoy.  Oh the joys and sacrifices! LOL.

So far 33 is treating me well.

Trash The Dress at Crystal Cove ~ First Date Revisit....

Tim and I had our first date at Crystal Cove in Newport Beach, California.  It's the location of our engagement photos and, if money were no object, we would have loved to have had our wedding reception there too!  So when I got the crazy idea to take my dress into the ocean (and Tim in a replica wedding ensemble) and have Melvin photograph the event, Crystal Cove is where we headed!
A heavy photo post, but I couldn't narrow it down to our top few!

What an awesome experience.  Oh, and by the way, my dress did not get trashed!  The staines (rose petal staines, In-N-Out Burger, dirt...) all were washed clean in the ocean's salt water!  I popped it in the washing machine when I got home and let it air dry.  Other than some sand here and there it's pretty restored!  I saved the $150+ "preservation" fee by packing it in a rubber bin.  Someday our little girls can play dress up.  I won't worry one bit if it gets a little dirty!
